On Sunday evening, February 7 a bicyclist was struck by a car in Sacramento and died.
According to authorities, the accident happened at around 6.40 p.m. when 41 year old George Thomas of Sacramento was riding his bicycle on Auburn Boulevard near Watt Avenue. He was hit by a car in the 3200 block of Auburn Boulevard and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Details of the car and the driver are not known at this time, but the driver did stay at the scene and cooperated with the officials.
The westbound lanes of Auburn Boulevard were closed Sunday evening as Sacramento police investigated the crash.
The investigation is ongoing but it determined that neither drugs nor alcohol were involved in the crash.
So far no citations have been issued.
